StammerOn Fund

Are you passionate about the Arts and pursuing opportunities in arts and theatre? If so, the StammerOn Fund may be able to  help you.

The StammerOn Fund, created in memory of Lynne Mackie, aims to support young people who stutter in pursuing opportunities in the arts and theatre by providing financial assistance to help them thrive in their creative pursuits. Both professionals and hobbyists are welcome to apply. The funding can be used for a specific project, or to support daily life, supplies and studies during a period of focusing on art.

Lynne Mackie

Lynne Mackie, 04/07/1991 - 05/12/2021, was a young woman with a stammer who inspired, supported and enthused all those around her in the UK and around the world. Her positive attitude towards her own stammer, her analytical dissection of people's attitudes around stammering and her wit made her a force of nature. She loved drama and she had her own YouTube channel: StammerOn. She attended national and international meetings and events with people who stammer and changed their lives with her wisdom, positivity and personality.

On average, we expect to award around €500 per applicant, but the final amount may vary depending on the number of applications and available funds. Requests for larger amounts will be considered if they are well-justified and clearly explained in the application.

The StammerOn fund is a collaborative initiative between STAMMA, Stamily, and the Scottish Stammering Network.

Donations to the fund can be made via https://justgiving.com/campaign/LynneMackie

What can the fund be used for?

What we ask in return

To help us celebrate and share the impact of the StammerOn Fund, we kindly ask recipients to create a short piece about their journey. This could be a blog post, a vlog, or another creative format that suits you. It doesn't need to be polished or professional — just a genuine reflection on what you did with the fund, what it meant to you, and how it connected to your stammer and your creative expression.

These stories help us keep Lynne’s legacy alive, inspire others, and demonstrate the power of the arts for people who stammer.
